In short: a special location and a well organised race with an exceptional atmosphere In full: Organisation like clock-work. bagpipes at the start line, mind-blowing scenery, uncrowded field, plenty of water stations , crofter support along remote route and fantastic community atmosphere, plenty of hills to get your teeth into ! The race is well worth the trip to Skye and the stay in Skye is special in itself. Date of review: June 14, 2011

In short: amazing, challenging, scenic, friendly, brilliant race :) In full: Aching in many places after a Pb on hills, hills and then some hills. Swore a little (lot) getting through last mile with the end in sight on the OTHER side of the river and receeding round the longest loop ...it was my 10th marathon and 1st at Loch Ness.. Truly one of the BEST, worth the journey in every respect. I'll be back for sure. Date of review: October 5, 2010

In short: excellent..small field with BIG race feel..bagpipes in Princess St put a smile on your face at the start :-) In full: I really enjoyed this race.. the strong headwind going out and the welcome tailwind in the last miles gave my first ever negative split!lovely coastal views to entertain on route and fantastic enthusiasm from smiling volunteers all the way.. a big thankyou to them.Only gripe ?...Distance to reach shuttle busses seemed to add significant mileage at end of the day :-) Date of review: May 31, 2007
