In short: Conditions were tough but the support on the course was awesome!
In full: I wanted to run another marathon after London, and this ticked all my boxes! Nice course, although challenging in places. Hot summers day didn't really help and I did personally struggle with only having water every 3 miles - I guess I was used to every mile at London. The locals impressed me with their support and the amount of people shouting my name kept me going, as did the lady at around 19 miles who gave me her water. She even found me afterwards to check I made it bless her. She was a life saver! This is definitely one I would recommend. Lovely finish in the stadium which was very uplifting after a 26 mile slog. I didn't quite get the time I was after, but got a great medal and sense of satisfaction.

In short: Perfect build up for marathon
In full: I ran this race last year and had no issues, although I did think this year was better. I preferred the change of route and also much prefer chip timing - how great to see your result so soon after a race!

I thought the marshals were superb throughout and very encouraging and cheerfull. There was a moment when I was running a little alone, so I am glad the marshals were clearly visible and in all the right places.

The information given to me beforehand in my race pack meant there were no surprises such as parking and toilet facilities etc.

Admittedly the weather made the race more enjoyable than a 20 miler in wind and rain and the fact I got a nice 15 minute pb was very pleasant too!

A fair mix of abilities and in such a race, all are welcome - not just the faster club runners.

When training for a marathon, knowing you have to get at least one 20 miler in - this for me is a total no brainer!

Well done Thanet!

In short: Fast 10k in the lovely countryside and completely traffic free
In full: I was well informed of the changed parking arrangements and that all seemed great to me. It was definitely a better option to move the parking than being stuck on the field and it also meant no obstacle for runners at the end.

Course itself is great, marshals brilliant and any congestion is a direct result of this race's popularity - perhaps a victim of its own success. If you allow plenty of time though, there are no issues.

I am a huge Niceworks fan. There may have been a slight confusion over the provisonal result, but again they are trying to give people what they want - the results out quicker. If they hadn't people would moan that the results were delayed! I fear they can't win on that one!

Would definitely recommend this race for all abilities.

In short: Very tough in the middle, but fantastic event!
In full: This was my first Tunbridge Wells half marathon. I knew there would be a big hill, but it was tougher than I anticipated. Great course, great marshalls, great organisation - even the weather was perfect. My day was complete, getting my medal put around my neck by Dame Kelly Holmes! Magic!

In short: A great race for all standards
In full: I think it's a great 10k course and so different to those that run through the towns. Ideal race for all types and standards, even those that have never or have ran very little in the past. Highly recommended!

In short: I really enjoyed running along the coast, although probably wouldn't so much if it had rained!
In full: Didn't see one sign to HQ, but luckily I had an idea where I was heading. Great organisation and enjoyable race. Marshalls were very encouraging. Great event, which I would recommend to others.

Did anyone else have a chuckle about the leading runner on the medal, or was I just being childish?!!

In short: Very testing, but I loved it! :-)
In full: This was my first half marathon, so I was little anxious about the hilly start, but although it was hard work I really enjoyed it. The support throughout the whole course was magnificent and kept me going. I found the last 2 miles very challenging - I could see what loooked like a bouncy castle in front for ages! - I kind of wish it was, so I could just collapse on it at the end!!

Very well organised - would highly recommend.
