In short: Well organised, lovely finish, lovely support, and great finish line. In full: I really enjoyed running this race, it is a great course mainly on footpaths and hillier than I expected, although nothing to bring you to a horrified halt. Lots of friendly support during and after the race, great parking, and a great finish line on the lawn of the Bracknell Arts centre. The weather helped but it was a nice course in the main. Great value compared to many bigger events. I will definitely do it next year if unsuccessful with the Marathon ballot! Date of review: April 28, 2013
In short: My result was horribly wrong In full: I'm afraid I'm not impressed as I've had an extra 16 minutes added to what was a respectable time and finishing position. My Garmin also showed it to be 250m short and no e mail to notify us that results were available or where they could be found. I guess for £11 I shouldn't grumble. I have to also agree that the kids on wheels were a pain when I was feeling the pain! The mud was fun and the marshals friendly however and it had a nice relaxed feel about it. It's a shame the guys on the finishing line were perhaps a little too relaxed as well. Date of review: February 6, 2013
In short: Great race, really well supported, but a course that makes you work for it In full: A great race with brilliant support, the army guys were incredibly sincere with their encouragement and I am sorry I couldn't respond to thank them. More hills than I expected and one at around 10 miles nearly had me unstuck. Good water and drink stationing but energy drinks in plastic cups makes for a messy, sticky, runner on a hot day.
Great scenery and mile 8 was particularly glorious. Great organisation all round.
A few folk need to take note of the time markers at the start of the race, it's a tad selfish to hold up the fast guys when you are never going to put in a sub 1.30 time, let alone a sub 1.15, start further back and we will all enjoy it more.
Thanks to all who ran for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research today. Date of review: March 25, 2012
