In short: Better than last year
In full: I had vowed not to run this again after last years dissaster of getting the race about 1km further than 13.1 miles! However this years race was much better organised and the support from Brighton was fantastic - Thanks everyone! although i made sure i did the racing lines on the course i still measured 0.1m too long - but thats within reasonable tolerance for me. Looking forward to Brighton marathon now.....

In short: Shame good race but victim of its own success £41 is to much
In full: Hmmm - Shame as this has always been one of my favourite non marathon races. All the grandure of a marathon but only 10m. The course is very good and support fantastic (although less this year with cold wet weather). Very well run race, with some great athletes and celebrities if thats your thing. Great for charities and beginner runners, although I was in the fast paced club runners and still dodging round weekend joggers! Really need to have pens with this number of runners. £41 is a lot of wedge for 10m, with crap T shirt and average medal - some marathons cost that! Will i do it again - I suppose i will do, but seems to be loosing its special feel. It may become a victim of its own success!

In short: Great Atmosphere, great race, great fun!!!
In full: After the shambolic Half marathon in brighton 2 months previous (wrong distance), i was not expecting much from the marathon. But boy was i wrong, great buzz and atmosphere from runners and spectators, and even the marshalls. Quite a quick course (even I managed 03:44), and enjoyed the whole route. I personally loved the dreaded road to hell, as it was a good time to dig deep and pick the pace up. Will I do this next year? Of course, even if i get into London the week after - I'd do both!!! Thanks Brighton!

In short: An expensive joke
In full: I really dont know where to start on this!!!!
Distance - miles out (well half a mile out) whats the point having a certificate of distance and then putting turnaround cone in a different place!!!
Price was very expensive for an empty carier bag to put in the bin, no toilets, no bands, etc.
Atmosphere was good in places but on times i have had more exciting training runs, running round traffic cones.
Toilets queue was longer than the race on times (and probably better measured), and why someone gets a special parking space at the start so they can run a blinding 2:45 race (Katie P)!
Has to be one of the worst races I have run, and doubt i will be back. Shame on Brighton!

In short: Best Organised event I have seen
In full: This is a must for everyone! - Great organisation and running with the best in the world (not often you get to do that). Support is unbelivable all the way round the course. Lots of runners mean that either you can get caught in the crowds of sprint up front and get lactic acid trying to keep up with the quick runners - I did a very quick first 2 miles and avoided the crowds, but paid for it at the last 2 miles into a strong wind!! (posted a respectable 77 mins). Charity hospitality was fantastic - many thanks.

In short: Flat run but big mistakes each year - like 11.2k not 10k!
In full: A shame that over 1000 runners make the effort to run 10k (or should i say 11.2k) and no one can organise the important turnaround point! As this 11.2k race is down the road for me it is probably a race I will do every year as it is for charity.
Good mix of runners from very good to walking pace, but the shambles over the distance (1.2k over) meant that runners out had to go through single file gates and return runners had to wait for a gap or climb over a metal barrier. I do fear this debacle will cost the event a fair few runners - especially those who travel a fair distance, as this is the third year where there has been a disapointing, aspect (but this years was the worst, and most basic).
All that said - still enjoyed the day, and many thanks to all the volunteers and supporters who made the day a fun event. Good volunteers and great supporters! This race could be a great race instead of a good race. Hope for better next year.
