Don't know if any of the faster thread members are interested in a late entry to VLM: you need to be sub 2.50 and be a guide for a blind sub-3 aspirant. More details here: https://www.facebook.com/marathontalk.
I've asked for sponsorship on a few occasions, (more in the first few years of running than of late) but only for causes I've cared about. Most recent occasion was my first ever ultra in support of MND after a friend was diagnosed. I can see that in the future I might continue to request sponsorship every now and then, but seeing as I race a lot and train a lot simply because I love it and want to do as well as I can, the pool of potential sponsors will become ever smaller!
In terms of sponsoring others, I generally do, as I take the view that when I started out, the fact I was running for charity was a big motivation.
Abbers: by the sounds of it you ran a half on untapered legs having had a busy afternoon the day before. There's quite a lot of explanation for the performance tucked into that one short sentence, so I wouldn't abandon hopes of sub 3.15. Don't be greedy on race day, but set off at 7.25s (think I've got that right) and take stock at 10M.
Some very impressive training this morning: Luke, bufo and HR.
Well done to those who raced today or yesterday: RS, Steve and bufo.
A slightly hungover 18M for me this morning, considerably slower than bufo, but faster than HR. It was such a lovely day to be out there. Had a bit of fun confusing people by running 'through' a fun run: several people congratulated me on being first lady and I did have to confess to them that I was only training.
