Blimey that was so good-a race never ceases to amaze me, you reach the depths of despair in the company of total strangers encourage each other and help each other through it-only to part company at the finish never to see the person again-thats what makes a good race for me?
I will definitley be back next year and weirdly the finish seemed almost an anti climax-i got my high enroute?
p.s apologies to the penguin (i told my family i had been passed by a crow only for them to tell me you were a penguin)!
I did the Coledale Horseshoe fell race on Saturday, it put this marathon intp perspctive-9 miles and 3400ft of ascent- oooh it was harsh and my thighs still havent forgiven me. Brathay marathon will be a breeze!!!! (have nearly convinced myself!)
F.E i laughed my head off at your course summary. Me and Mr also drove round the route last weekend, with my mum in the back saying constantly "and you are running round here"?
I agree with the brief but perfect OMFG, it says it all. However another thing i realised was that there are only 2 hills you could reach the bottom of, look up and say "i am goin to march/walk up there and when i reach the top will begin to run again". For the rest of the course the hills are just drags and entirely runnable-problem being there are so many of them it will be exhausting and gulit ridden should you begin to walk!
