Anyone any clue what it might be?

I'm guessing I'm going to have to send it to get serviced - just at the beginning of the postal strike.  Suppose that means it'll be a couple of weeks before I get it back

The womens running network seem to have a group in Colne (apologies if your not female - I'm making the assumption based on your member name!)

If they are severe, or have been there for a while, see a physio.   Rest is the best cure, but first you need to get an assessment of what's causing the shin splints - it isn't always a running problem.

For example my shinsplints has been caused by the way I land when doing jumping kicks (in taekwondo) - the physio has assessed my running and my jumping kicks and tells me that in the kicks I always land on the balls of my feet (and not too lightly!).  My running form is fine (despite the over-tight calves and hip flexors ).

OK, thanks folks.

You've given me something to think about, and at least half an idea what I need to do.

Supercaz: it would be nice to think they had plans - at the moment they can't even tell me what I'm going to be doing tomorrow (or next week) let alone what plans they have for me in the next year.  I've spent the last few days on 'personal development' (otherwise know as reading the manual) and am now getting truely bored.

Totally unrelated to running, but I'm hoping some of the HR types around here will help me out.

After 10yrs of working for myself as an IT contractor I have recently returned to 'normal' permie employment and, having completed my probationary period, the HR guy is now talking about a meeting to sort out a personal development plan.

However, I have no idea what these things (the plans) are, what I will be expected to take to such a meeting, what I am expected to say/contribute to the plan, or even what I should be expecting to get out of it all.

Can anyone enlighten me?
