Hey pants , maybe the harvel guys can get together with the clowns at the Mascalls "fun runs " and learn not to throw the water at the runners but serve it up to them in plastic bottles at 2 for 50p ( oh i do like to run with loose change in my pocket ) , i wasnt there yesterday but neither were about 180 others from last year , wots going on ?

"Maybe the Harvel 5 isnt for you " , after commenting quite innocently on being ripped off for a £ for a tiny bottle of water at the pub last year the HHHH mafia then got to me , finishing off with the above comment so i'm going somewhere else this year !

"Fun " is probably the most inappropriate word that you could ever use to describe this event , don't waste your time or money going there .

Meldy , there is no way that my time when i crossed the start line yesterday was recorded , i started my watch when the gun went off , it had recorded 42 secs when i passed under the start , when i finished my watch read exactly the same time as the clock above , i therefore lost 42 secs . Proper chips go on to your laces , i am more than willing to pay extra for one of them , THe Barnes Green half organisers held a poll after last years race and everyone agreed , timing chips are the way forward .
Am chilled

So what on earth was that useless thing stuck to the back of my race number for ? I know what my finish time is , its on the clock over the gantry , yes , some of the less well organised races "penalize " you by 10-20 secs on top of your real finish time coz they cant get it right BUT the real time is lost at the start , yesterday it was 42 secs , at Brighton last month they had it well under control with PROPER timing chips that , coupled with the dual start meant that not only was your race time spot on but you werent fallimg over 10min milers who insist on standing in the 4th row back from the start line , no more Hastings Halfs until the organisers get it right with the proper timing !
