Ozman, sorry to hear about the injury. I had some success with Hands-On-Healthcare in Prescot. They might be worth a try. Good luck.

Well done KP, how did the toe hold out?

I have been swimming several times this week in an effort to get the exercise and at the same time not putting any strain on my hamstring. I used to hate swimming but the more I do it the more I am enjoying myself although I am still not very good at it.

Soph, how has your non-running week gone? I hope everyones aches and pains are lessoning. Pug, I hope you have not overdosed on carbs yet. :-)

I had a no-exercise day today as we went out after work to celebrate someone leaving and now I feel like I never want to eat again. The plan was to go for a late swim but I think I would have sunk if I had tried. Still, there is always tomorrow.

The thought of a cheap room and a party makes this race even more tempting. I wish I could make up my mind. I will have to discuss it with Mr AM and then tell him what we are doing. :-)

Bungee, once I've completed the first half of the marathon I always think of myself being "on the way home". The feeling of achievement when you cross that finish line for the first time cannot be described. It is just wonderful.

Speedy, if it hadn't been for MR AM stopping them removing the chip mat I would not have had a chip time. On the entry form they do ask for an estimated finish time. I was pretty much spot on with my time so if the race had a shorter time limit then the organisers had the option of declining my entry.

I really appreciate the stewards waiting out so long in the cold and it wasn't until I was on the road by the finish that I was unsure where to go next. The road sign had fallen down and the finish was being dismantled.

The man who had finished just before me was there to clap me over the finish line as was Mr AM. The lady in the chip tent gave me my medal and removed my chip, but you are right Speedy, it was a bit of an anti-climax.

However, as I am nearly always right at the back of any race except the fun runs, I am quite used to that and I am happy to find a race that I was allowed to enter and I thank the organisers for that.

KP duct taping instructions are heading your way. We may save you from Santa's cleaver yet. :-)

Just back from an hour in the pool and need to walk the dog.

Back later ....
