Might as well join in!

I developed the Running Partners website in 2004 after numerous requests on this forum.  The site has just been redesigned and now only shows member profiles that have been active within the last year.

As old profiles are deleted new ones are being added, so member numbers may not appear to change much.  But all profiles displayed will be 'current' giving more chance of success!

Don't know how to break this to you Debs... no medal at last year's Turkey Trot! Nowt but a drawstring bag. Great wee race though. Some good times last year even after all that grub and booze.

Where did £10 come from? Hugh Wilson 10K entry fee is only £4 for on the day entry (£6 for non-members of Athletics Scotland) with track start and finish and prizes.

Regarding no.2, if it is impact that is the problem then aquajogging is thought to be the most similar to actual running.

and a good article here with a training schedule on page 4:

I have been trying this for a couple of weeks and if I do short intervals eg. 10 x 1 min it definitely gets the heart rate up. I have also used the elliptical (no impact but still weight-bearing) but don't get the same feeling of 'running' from that.

I bought a belt from the swimming teachers association website for £14. I thought I'd feel a bit daft in the pool but no problem at all. Give it a go!
