Thanks nrg-b. Gave the legs a break (week and a half) and got some racing flats as well. Ankles were feeling ok yesterday, so tried going for a run. Unfortunately, the pain came straight back, and I'm not walking properly today.
Will now have to rest up completely before trying again. Back to the bike I go ...
Not such great news for me. Have been out building up for the marathon, but now developed tendonitis in my ankles. Looking around the net, it seems to be posterior tibial tendonitis affecting both legs, but much worse on the right. Have had bruises on the inside of my ankles for a couple of weeks now.
Have been building up slowly, and managed 9 and 10 miles on the last two weekends ... but cannot continue doing this. I'm not sure that any amount of getting technique right is really going to get me round a full marathon in H streets.
Perhaps it is due to the slowing of pace for long distance, thus spending more time on support. I don't really want to change the way I'm running because I still believe the principles of Pose, but I am going to look for some racing flats with more cushioning to see if they will help. Keep the H streets for my shorter runs.
