WiB, thanks for that. Sound advice. On top of all my sorrows, last night one of the girls at work told me I'd put weight on. The sheer indignity of not being able to run! |

Try these exercises in the embedded pdf in this link to themds.co.uk. I found them really useful. Foam rollering hurts like a bastard until you get the muscles sufficiently relaxed, then it's maintenance. Also try it on your ITBs as tension there could well be throwing off your gait, and yes, that REALLY hurts. http://www.themds.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?892-Medial-Tibial-Stress-Syndrome |

Yes, it is the Dorset CTS. How was it? Really looking forward to it as have a couple of MdS tent mates joining me for it so it's a bit of a reunion. I've been on between 30-60 miles a week for the past year and a bit so have a good base but will take a reality check point if it's still cream crackered in 2 week's time and sit with the missus throwing peanuts at them from strategic pubs along the route. It was quite an impressive break unfortunately. |

Debra, thanks for that. I'm also on an oil rig so can't swim, unless I make a break for the beach but I'll try water running on leave. Ric, cheers for that pointless comment. I've still got 2 months to recover and after managing the marathon des Sables in April, 50km off form is not a huge drama. |
