I finished in 4.18 and was drenched during the last couple of miles back from Portobello which cooled off my sunburn from the hot middle section of the race. Still, that's good old Scottish weather for you.

I've signed up for the race next year after enjoying this years one so much.

Since that was my first marathon this second one will at least give me a time to beat now I know I'm capable of lasting 26 miles without suffering major injuries.

I must be one of the few people who actually like running along the cycle paths as I do it so often in training. Won't be running along there at all in the evenings now that it's dark earlier though.

I've entered this excellent event again also.

Did it last year as my second half marathon ever and thought it was great. Managed to knock 15 minutes off my pb that day but somehow I don't reckon I'll do quite as well as that this year.

I'll be doing this race for certain as it starts and finishes across the road from my house.

I run the route all the time symo and it's as flat as a pancake so no worries there.

I got mine a couple of weeks back which did seem like a very long wait.

Wasn't overly impressed with it at all though considering it was exactly the same content as the coverage of the race on Channel 5 which I already had on video and the finishing line section was poor (for me at least) as some eejit stopped right in front of the only camera as I was crossing the line and all you could see of me was the cap I was wearing!
