I need to have a think as that time of year is massively busy for me work wise and I don't live in the easiest place for accessing some of these events
However...............I havenamed a new folder on my computer in preparation for opening a new spreadsheet in preparation for thinking about a rehab and then training plan so that's a good start to my IM 2015 campaign
I'm very good at thinking and planning....................
Do you know a dog you can go for coffee / sit outside with?
Then Monty can start off with practising sitting / lying near another dog with everyone chilled, then move a little closer but everyone still sitting / lying down, then a little sniff before parting
Basically desensitising him and showing him it's not the most exciting thing ever
Then you can move on to actually approaching the dog, perhaps passing by at a distance first of all and over several encounters narrowing the gap provided he remains calm until he can meet nose on calmly........
Most easily done if you have a couple of local dogs with understanding owners who are happy to help in his training by allowing him a couple of "fly pasts" each time you meet!
Something like a halti which can control his head direction can be helpful too
I'm sure he's just over excited rather than anything else and just needs to learn some manners
That one struggles in the swim dept with water temps - the year I did it we lost the swim and then I had to pull out of the run after a mile with a calf problem so can't really comment on the race overall but it seems to pull a reasonable entry each year
if there was no offence taken then Podds needs to up her game !!
- I do seem to be slipping!!
Morning all BTW
Good luck with the GPO's jabs today..........it's been nice knowing you Have you got any penicillin left from the last time he ate you?
Poor FGO - he's obviously struggling to get the staff and such a handsome lad should never have to go without his lunch
Sluggie - bits and bobs to the knee.....there's nothing they can do with the MCL due to my biomechanics so there will always be a degree of discomfort with that; the medial meniscus is having more trimming and tidying; he will also smooth the articular cartilage on the back of the patella and parts of the femoral condyles and generally flush out and tidy up everything within the joint capsule..........it's not a cure but should improve quality of life
Yesterday the DG leapt the stair gate at the bottom of the stairs which given he's supposed to be on short controlled walks with no running and jumping I wasn't very impressed with!! However he doesn't seem to have come to too much harm as far as I can see! But when I go to work today I will have to barricade the bottom of the stairs to stop him doing it again...........
I am soooooooooooooo bored - working from home again as can't face all the stupid comments that will be coming out at work but finding it hard to concentrate..
One plus though - an obnoxious kid was moved to another school back at Christmas as according to her father we were so terrible and never supported her, poor little victimised soul that she was blahdi blah etc etc............guess who wants back now? And even better, I'll give you 3 guesses as to whether or not we still have space in her year group?
