Afe , in hindsight I maybe burnt myself out a little bit and by the time I realised it was too late.

Not much lined up in the way of races although I've entered Great South Run in October. So that will be my long term aim plus some 5k + 10k's , park runs etc. Just need to get my foot mended first

Hi Sue C , yes I did indeed do 2:50 , but that was 4 years ago and I fear that will be as good as it gets.

Hi Wardi & Andy curry was fine , but not as good as some oop North.

Think I set off a tad too fast on Sunday and never felt comfy the whole race.By 14 miles I knew it was going to be a battle for survival.

Did 11 x 20 mile runs in training and I was feeling stale in the weeks leading up to the marathon. Also the foot injury I had leading up to the race made me over compensate and alter my gait. The last 10 miles were a sea of pain and exhaustion , but I never walked even though I was desperate to!!

Vowed to the missus that was that , but time is a great healer and I'm already looking at hotels for next year

Big well dones to all concerned and commiserations to those who didn't get what they wanted  . . . .  I've now experienced both sides of the coin.

I'm sat here laughing at this !

Well done all who ran on Sunday.I got a 3:03 when well on for sub 3 , but I died on my arse in the last 10k.

I'm not giving up the beer and curry however , but I may join the sub 3:15 thread

Good luck tomorrow Andy.Hope the calf holds up.Reckon you will still have a good run.

I'm doing the Half , hoping for around 1:25 and that I still leave enough in the tank for London in 2 weeks time
