You can tell we are into peak of the Autumn season with all these 20-milers going on. A friend reminded me today that you should feel like you have worked hard at the end of the long run, so Friday morning = 14 miles for me. Or 2.5 hours. Whichever comes first Half mara is 23rd Oct-ish, but am re-thinking this a bit since I'll be stranded in Cardiff on my current plan. I'm really just aiming for 23 miles that day 8.5 miles done this morning - felt quite good. Maybe I should have tried harder on Sunday..... |

Ahh... I must remember to check in at the weekend!! Well done everyone on your long runs and races. Nowt much from me - didn't run other than the 10k. 2.5 miles warm up and a 52 min 10k... 51.38mins on the chip. Really lovely event and we had quite a big team taking part so it was all round good feeling. |

Oh dear... I've missed my swim for the week, and work means I'll probably struggle to get those two runs in as well.... hm.... Friday morning should still be ok though. As long as I eat well, I won't beat myself up too much about it. I'll call it a taper bradders - congrats on your first half! Just need to make it a whole now... OH - Fabulous 21 miles! I'm very jealous. Jason - we were at Lake vynwy earlier this year - I recommend the spa!! |

Woo! Third 12 miler in 12 days done.... 6 minutes faster than the others!! Different route though... worth keeping in mind when I'm pressed for time So this week will see me do a swim, a 6-er and a 4-er before the weekend. Then 3 miles before my 10k race, then a few more miles after. Hoping for 50 mins for the 10k. Think 52 is more likely as I weighed myself the other day and I'm a couple kgs heavier than I should be Not going to be helped by going out for one final holiday lunch today..... but after that, I'll be good. Honest. |

Kez - You'll be surprised at what your legs can do. For me it is whether my head will let me go that far and I have to build up a lot of confidence before heading out for the longer ones. E.g. I've had to do three (tomorrow is number three at least) 12 milers before I can head towards 15. I'll have to do two 14's before I can go higher again, but hopefully, as long as there isn't a week off, I'll be able to reach 16, 17 and 18 in consecutive weeks then. It's all one big mind game for me! Jason - when I have time pressure, my run gets reduced by 2 miles. I second the suggestion that you are a machine. Teknik - Good work on the kip |
