This forum is amazing - went to the sports therapist - She said it was my hip flexor - She picked this up on my first appointment.without any indication from me on what I thought it might be. Thank you Liz for this assistance - it is along process and she advised swimming if I felt pain free - but to keep moving giving me certain stretches.
It is down to lack of strength training and pushing too hard through races.
Liz, thankyou, this really does help. And my hip was getting stiff a week ago, so the warning signs were there looking back. Will get to a sports therapist as suggested. Lack of stretching may of also contributed. Hope you are back to racing yourself.
heart won! Planned a get out after one mile if any pains.. Ran out with the 1.50 pacer and the hills felt easier than the flats! Half way still felt fine and back for 1.49 job done.once I started walking again the pain was and is incredible Iimped to work on the tube.. now wondering what to do... Very odd injury...
Ealing half tomorrow? Sudden pain yesterday when walking, from hip. Tried a run this morning; just a little pain when I lengthen my stride; I have more pain when walking.
it seems to effect my walking more - tried Tiger Balm - really puts heat into the area. But temped to do the half not sure what to do? My heart is saying yes but my head is not sure. What is the best test I can do? short notice I know. Cornish
Don't look back, run as far as the eye can see. Embrace the rain with the wind wrapping around you like a blanket of energy. Giggle through the puddles and smile that nothing matters while you run. All your worries suddenly have answers and everything is not as bad as it seems. Wow what a wonderful moment in time a run can give you! Price less.... Thank you for sharing my run today along The Thames cross Kew bridge back over Chiswick Bridge to Ealing Common in London. Happy last day of 2012.
