Hi, Hope some of you can offer some advice! I currently have an old Garmin Forerunner 205, which drives me bonkers with the length of time it takes to pick up satellite signal! So am looking for a replacement....looking to spend a max £150, only need basic functions (time/distance/pace etc), should be water resistant, not too bulky as I have tiny wrists, but above all not take an age to get a signal!! Any recommendations? Was looking at the Forerunner 10, but there seems to be mixed reviews as to the signal.
Lovely route this year through the woods. However, the change of start location compared to previous years (presumably to allow the double lap through the woods) resulted in a fair amount of chaos at the start/finish area, not helped by the inability to hear the announcements! Also disappointed that they were not chip timing the 1k event - kids have run this in previous years and missed out on comparing their improving times! Still a lovely event and will no doubt be back next year (hopefully having actually done some training!).
Changing routes is a fab idea - I went out at the weekend armed with map and compass (not especially far away from home, just have an appalling sense of direction!!) - best run I have had in ages. Saw parts of the area I haven't seen before and got an off road run (in the rain!).
