Visited the expo and start line earlier. The Sweatshop team are still busy getting the site just right for tomorrow, even brushing the road near the finish to ensure there are absolutely no obstacles. They've all got a 4.00am start tomorrow to put the road markings up and get everything just perfect.
Let's hope the rain holds off. Forecast is for sunny intervals with the temperature around 16 degrees. Just right! Bring it on...
Great race - I finished in 2.55.58 which, I think, puts my predicted marathon tie at 3.54.
Thanks to all the marashalls for their support throughout the hail and windy conditions. The chocoloate and jelly beans gave me a boost.
Wasn't too happy with the race organiser for berating us for being late to the start and barking instructions at us (no MP3s etc...)
Suggest you make this all much clearer in the programme notes. I was at a loss to know what to do with my bag, where to go and where the start actually was. A better briefing next time please...
My dad told me about the NSPCC. And how they help to stop people being cruel to children. You know, every week a child gets killed by their mum or dad!
So when my dad said he wanted to run the marathon in New York in November. I asked him if he would help the NSPCC.
Could you give £20 to help protect children?
Thank you very much

PS All you have to do is go to www.justgiving.com/dpatrick Everything you give will go to the NSPCC. Thank you.
Can anyone recommend any training races in the early autumn in the run up to NY?
Am getting in plenty of training and doing a race every fortnight at the mo. My approach is to get the mileage up to over 15 miles a session and combine this with some faster paced races.
Yes - this would be a good race to go for as there are usually plenty of young children taking part. My 11 year old son will be running (tho' he doesn't know it yet!) Every finisher gets a commemorative medal.
