I did belong to a gym, but also gave it up because I was either at netball or running outside.  It would help whilst my immune system is low just to go and do some strength conditioning, but there's probably more germs in the gym.

Checked the weather for my area, tomorrow is supposed to be sunny, then getting colder on Sunday.  Netball tomorrow, then running in the cold on Sunday.  It's no wonder people think we're completely insane.

How did you do on the FLM?

Hi all,

Took all your good advice, I am all vitamined up!!!  Hopefully, once the cough stops and the snot stops dripping down my face I'll be out pounding the streets again.

I suppose it doesn't help that I play netball 3 times a week in the cold and wet wearing nothing but a skirt and t-shirt!!!

SamL, I agree with you and hate running when it's icy, I always end up on my arse then hobble home feeling sorry for myself.  It's supposed to be getting worse this weekend as well - just what we need.

Thanks all for your comments and good luck wishes x

My shopping list is getting longer!!!!!!

Thanks for all the advice, i'll do anything to stop feeling so crappy.  It doesn't help that I beat myself up for not being able to run because I can't breathe.

Fruit, multi vits etc and hand gel here I come........

Thanks Alex, it's encouraging to know that you've been thru this and still completed the mara.  Did you rest during your colds or carry on training?

I have been accepted for the FLM, but my training keeps getting interrupted by colds.  As soon as I feel I'm getting somewhere, unfortunately only up to 60 mins running, I come down with yet another cold.  How do I keep colds at bay???

Really worried that I'm not going to be ready, I'm not looking for a specific time, just want to be able to complete the marathon but feel well while doing it!
