maybe you lot should have stabilizers or ride trikes
As for sandbagging... may as well put my 2p in..
Did Holkham half 5 weeks ago... not swum since. sat on bike once for a 20 mile pootle and run 3 times (3, 5 and 6 miles) -
If I could defer or withdraw I would - but may as well go for the bag, and see how far I get (probably half way up Lluc)
its a misnomer that flat = easy.
try sitting aero for 5/6/7 hours on a bike with no undulations to break it up v something that will get you out of the saddle a little to use different muscle groups.
but will agree with the consensus - Outlaw is a good course.
Get in the pool.
1 minute rest.
do another 500
Time them. This is your baseline.
Repeat over several sessions (2 or three a week ideally), maybe add a fourth or 5th 500 set in.
You should ideally see consistent times across all sets with an improvement overall
The only time I get OW swimming is at the start of a OW Tri race.
So once in 11.5 months!.
Still - it keeps the wettie in a good nick.
Do them both
