Thank you all for your suggestions.

What really gets me is I have an automatic entry to the FLM and cannot use it.

I will be trying to put it off until next year to see if I can run/jog the FLM 2010????

If I had a sedate office job apparently I would not have this achillies problem.

My job has constantly reinjured the area, as soon as scar tissue happens I am tearing it, and so the cycle happens all over again.

Not being able to properly rest the injury hasn't helped either.

I have an Olyptical trainer at home but its like being on a journey with no destination, I am just not much good at being on a hamsters wheel so to speak.

I suppose after 5 years not being able to run or walk  without pain I have had to accept and get used to it.

Well as for swimming, I never could run in a straight line always veered off to the  left or right, so hard to imagine me swimming in a straight line.

At least I have both my legs some don't, it helps to count my blessings when it really  gets me down.

Regards

Has anyone else had the terrible misfortune of injuring the coccyx so cant cycle and a partial ruptured achillies which happened in 2004 and I still cannot run on it????

I have put so much weight on via depression on not being able to do anymore what Ii used to enjoy.

I cannot seem to find any way to keep fit and get  my heart rate up, before anyone suggests it I walk in my job 5 days a week for 4 hours a day.

I have had cortisone injection once in 2006 and again in  Jan 2009.

Has anyone got a light at the end of a tunnel I could buy please?

The helpers medals are different to the runners finishing medals.

Usually the runners finishing medals are bronze and the medal given to helpers is silver with the word official wriiten on the reverse.
