Corinthian, brilliant post thank you very much. You are right, I haven't managed step one yet. I love maths and numbers, always have and have always quite fancied getting into accounting. A local college ran a week long course last year that would have been perfect but it was the week I went back to work after baby number 2 so, it was out of the question! I'll be looking out for it this year.

I've been away from the forum that long I don't even know how to reply to a post!

Ian, thank you for your words of caution. I read the article and it's interesting but the people clearly hadn't understood the message in the book. Getting in to debt is the exact opposite of his recommendation... a debt is a huge liability, a way of paying even more money to the bank and taking even less of your hard earned cash home with you. Have you read the book yourself?

I intend, like SwimsLikeAWalrus (love the name, I'm even worse!)suggests to gain transferable skills, marketing, sales and mostly accounting which I've always had a love for. Things that will help me throughout my life in many different areas, personal and professional.

Kwilter, are the open Uni courses all distance learning? Or do you get classroom time too? I find it easier to pick things up in a classroom enviroment.

I haven't been on here for ages and ages but as there is such a wide range of people from different backgrounds and careers on here I thought this would be the place to ask for help!

I turn 30 in a few weeks and have decided to give myself a big kick up the bottom, by getting myself educated and improve myself. I have just finished reading a book called "Rich dad, Poor dad" and have decided that a course in sales might be a good place to start as suggested in the book. Anyone taken one and could recommend a good company/college (I live in the Oxford area)? I don't work in sales myself, or plan to for that matter but think that it would help my confidence and my communication skills.

Is there a course that you took that helped you in your life? I would also like to do an accounting course and then start to learn about investing. I have a whole 10 year plan to start on!!! I'm full of motivation but don't know what direction to take!

The X-talon 212 therefore, would probably be great when the ground is soft but kill your knees if it's firm.

The X-Talons have the soft compound sole so the lugs deform when running over harder terrain, think of it as a mild shock absorption effect...

Ah I see, I've been out of the game for a while!!!

I haven't done too much trail running myself, a couple of off road races - the rough n tumble, Sodbury Slog etc - so maybe I'm not the person to give you advice but here goes anyway!!!

I think you'd be hard pushed to find many trail shoes that will do great in the Glens and still give you enough cushioning on hard tracks at home. The ones mentioned on this thread might well close though! The Harrier and the Roclite 315 particularly. The number after the Innov8 shoes refers to the weight of the shoe so as a general rule, the higher the number, the more cushioning they tend to have. The X-talon 212 therefore, would probably be great when the ground is soft but kill your knees if it's firm. I'd stick to using your Nimbus when the ground is a bit harder at home and then get something with more grip that's suited to your Scotland race and wet conditions at home.
