Cheers Martin and DS. Running is a great sport when you are fit and well but not so much fun when you are struggling and running slower than you know you are capable of. I've been running for 10 years now and the last 2 years have been my worst to date.
Haven't been on here for a long time as fitness is poor and motivation was low for a while. Heading to GNR next weekend so things are loooking up again. Had to defer my entry last year due to injury so lloking forward to taking part this time.
Nattybow and Alwyn, hope you both enjoy the GNR. I am going over on Saturday morning and flying home on Sunday evening. Unfortunately for me I have to defer my entry until next year as picked up an injury about 4 weeks ago.
I ran a very pleasing 13.1mile training run on the Sunday and was on a high. I then ran a sesons best 5k on the Wednesday and after this race my piriformis and gluteus muscles went into spasm. Had sports massage and a few visits to physio but think rest is going to be the only cure. I am gutted but will cheer on 3 club mates who are also taking part.
Enjoyed NFU Ballymoney 5 Mile Race on Friday night. Keep forgetting how tough the middle part of the course is. Ran 4 seconds faster than last year but hope to get faster yet. Cookstown on Friday night should be a good race too.
