DAZ-very serious, it's interesting how other people prepare and eat along the way. The last 2 years I've taken a Pete Bland bum bag filled with food-flap jacks, nuts, raisins, sweets, bagels, mars bars, energy gels, haribo snakes, sport drink powder. I don't normally take sugar in tea but on Bullock I got 1/2 a cup of tea and put some sugar in it at every CP, and had the soup and doughnuts. I've done very few long runs if any since VLM and hardly been to the track.
DAZ-I need to start Bullock training, so that I don't retire at Castleton, re. Nutrition, when do you start eating your first pork pie and at what intervals thereafter? I had a walk up to the monument on James Thorn this morning, the one where the Lancaster bomber crashed for a few minutes reflection given recent events and had one of those surreal moments. As I turned to come down, I heard this loud humming noise, looked up and this RAF Hercules cargo plan was hedge hopping, coming across from Kinder towards me at about 100 feet above the hills, nearly did a GBM
DTS-for you, a few questions to be answered. I've GFA for London next year and I think that'll be it with long distance, you'll find out one day, although it was nice passing about 30 people at CC and about another 20 at WB last year doing Bullock.
