I think I quite like it - In terms of content I am currently preferring the 'trail running' i picked up at the airport yesterday but that's just my current interest - i think the new RW is quite appealing actually (but maybe i'd just got bored of the old look/format). Thank goodness there's no weird plastic runner on the cover this time - WHY they don't use the rave run photos for the cover i'll never know.
I quite fancy this but it's a long long drive for me on my ownsome. Anybody know if my other half could get some good mountainbiking in the estate or nearby?
You don't say if he wants to run with you or not. At 12 years old this may be a time when he needs his own 'thing' and own space and he may be happy to run with the school only or to join a club without you.
Perhaps chatting about running at home will be as far as he wants you to be involved. Be careful you don't use your shared interest to crowd him and threaten his independence.
The only thing that works for me is to get up super early on the race day.
I'm talking something before 6am for a 10am start. Watch some tv, potter round the house, breakfast, maybe even a walk to the shops for the paper. This way i seem to be able to fool my body into thinking it's lunchtime by the time the race starts.
