Still not got any further than 4 mile as the ice and snow threw last weeks programme out the window. Am trying to do a few classes at the gym inbetween of zumba, blt and spinning. Hoping to try to do 8+ miles this weekend as long as it doesn't snow.
Have physio appointment Monday to see if they can suggest further exercises to strengthen knee. Couple of friends are concerned that I may do long term damage and one of them has been on crutches for over 7 years with knee problems (6 ops) so I am really struggling this week to decide what I should do. This opportunity will never come up again but i don't want to stack up problems for years to come with my knee.
I guess I need physio or doctor to say don't do it as I don't want to let anyone down.
I'm going as Minnie Mouse - hoping to test it out at Ashby 20 on 18th March. It's my 40th day before - seemed like a good idea to enter back in November
Hello everyone - not been on the boards for VLM until today. I am struggling a bit. This will be my second marathon - did Edinburgh in 2010(5hrs 52) in 25 degree heat. Then fell over in a sports hall and damaged my knee. Still not right but I this is my last chance to do London.
Decided to run/walk it as my knee isn't up to running all the way. Anyone else run/walking? My motivation to get round is I'm running for Epilepsy Action as lost one of my best mates last year at age of 39. I'll be a blubbering wreck at the end!! Also going to do it fancy dress.
Had to go buy some trail shoes yesterday as got half mile from home and nearly gone arse over tit 4 times!!
Entered this race very early - think i'm number 6!! Never done before and part of my VLM training. Due to knee injury I am now run/walking VLM - should I still do this race and does anyone know if ok to wear my Minnie Mouse outfit I will be wearing for VLM?? i need to test it at this distance before race day.
this race is also day after my 40th birthday - i must be mad lol!!
