hey elizabeth ellis 3, it is my 40th next year- not on the day though, how great is that! After about 7 years of running have finally decided it is the year to give the full marathon a go!

yes dressing up as a runner would be the way to go, but i feel the need to make an effort,( like 26.2 miles in the heat with some wine in the bloodstream isn't enough effort! what a stupid thing to say! but i do),

so my ideas up to now are, a bunch of grapes, a bottle of wine or a cork. never going to win the most inspirational outfit with those ideas eh!

more important obviously is getting the place and the accomodation sorted.....will work on that first

i am interested in this ine with a few friends as a big birthday celebration too...it looks as though registration opens in february and the dressing up theme of medoc's history will prove to be a challenge!

i really want to do the walk the following day (lush) so will make sure we look for accomodation closer than bordeaux.

i do hate running int he heat though, might be a bad choice but just sound like an unmissable event..pray for cloud!

any tips and hints for organising this whole thing particularly places to stay would be most welcomed!

thanks for the helpful advice, i did warrington and had a great dry day - unlike the previous year's deluge.

well organised, undulating in a flattissh way(?) and some lovely rural roads to run down, we had a blast i would definately recommend it. good tech t shirt too.

now i am being persuaded to do conwy - but that is a whole other thread....
