am a member on TriTalk as well as runners world and have just entered my first Ironman, being Ironman France June 2006.
Having never ran over 13 miles and only completing my first couple of half marathons this year it will be a real challenge and a once in a lifetime experience for me if i can do it!
I am trying to raise as much money as i can for "Cancer Research UK" at the same time and have set a target for £1000 heres my site:
www.justgiving.com/deansironman
So who are the most generous when it comes to giving? Runners(Runners World?) or Triathletes (Tri-Talk?)
If you would like to sponsor me please dig deep and indicate if you are from Runners World or Tri-Talk!
I will keep you updated!
Thanks

Hi Prue
I did my first Half in December last year, the Keyworth Turkey Trot, in a build up for Half Ironman this year, i know exactly how you are feeling, but im sure you will be fine.
I would definitly say do Stafford and not Ironbridge, as if triathlons are anything to go bye Ironbridge is very hilly and lots of people have told me that Stafford is reasonably flat and a nice course too.
if you do decide on Stafford and want to meet up prior too for a chat let me know!
I would also suggest over the next few weeks try and get your long, slow distance runs up to 11 to 12 mile then the week before ease off, it worked for me!

Congrats to all who raced yesterday! I managed a PB too!
Especially Lurker(Well Done!) and Dan Dan (On The Mend Now! Well Done!).
It was good to meet up with a few of you too, Sean, Tizzard and Anthony as well, but where was everyone else?
Anthony, the Action Heart 5 this Sunday is full mate sorry, just checked for you! give us a shout out if your going to come and watch?
A special thanks to the guy who ran and sprinted with me over the last 400m or so and our dramatic sprint together to the line which almost killed me!
I have lost your number but i know you are doing the Stafford Half and we were going to meet up, give us a shout if you read this!
Who's doing Stafford then? are we meeting up again? and if so where?
