What a great blog read. I think Marigold will be on a high for quite some time and rightly so! Superb.
Good luck all the racers for the weekend incase I forget!
Not much to report except feeling very heavy legged on very minuscule weekly mileage! I'm hoping my legs catch up with where the rest of me wants to be in the next month or I'll have to get used to living with DOMS!
8.5 steady last night, 5.5 easy this morning, 6.2 this evening @ MP.
Good article LD, Martin does a bit of coaching too, I was lucky enough to meet him and train with him on an England Athletics training day a couple of years back, nice bloke but he tore my legs off that day!
Cheers CharlieW - Hope the niggles work their way better for you in your taper week.
Bainspj- I've got me coat on! Quality track session you've run there.
Joolska- Believe it or not it was better to run outdoors in that heat than on the deadmill in the hotel gym, why would they not air condition the gym?! A 5 miler on said deadmill couldn't be over quick enough! Straight off the belt and straight in the pool fully clothed once I was done, felt like running in the pits of hell in that gym!
Superb 'in the week' 18 miler you've done too. Very well done.
Just watched the Marigold BBC video clip.. brilliant.
Have a great run Steve, all the best and will be cheering you on from the sofa, after my own long run in the morning of course!
Not much to report from me except getting consistent runs and mileage in again at last, a whole 3 weeks in a row now! Some double day commutes to work, oh and running in Tunisia last week in 42 degree heat! That got shot of the fully inclusive lard! Not doing Berlin this year as planned but going to build a base for a pb attempt at the Halstead and Essex marathon next year. Possibly running at the Chelmsford marathon with my girlfriend, fingers crossed, it'll be her first 26.2 and I'm hoping to be able to keep up and run by her side. Guess who 'forgot' to send their GFA entry off before the deadline?.. Yep, the day it closed I remembered! I'm blaming it on my age! Never mind, I'll be looking forward to supporting in 2015.
