Congratulations to all marathoners. My last run was about 3 weeks ago - before I broke my collar bone while falling off a fast moving horse in Egypt - finally had surgery last week, but won't be able to do any exercise for a long time. It makes me appreciate what I have done and how fortunate we generally are to be able to get out there and enjoy the open spaces and fresh air - it is very frustrating though, as I had big plans for the summer which I will now need to change. Enjoy your running while you can everyone - I will get back to it as soon as I can..
Just back from running the Marrakech marathon - great race, great weather, great organisation, great city and nice and flat - pity about my time, but I basically had to stop training mid December due to knee problems and a series of colds - but it was a great experience - do it next year everyone!
I'm just back from running the Marrakech marathon last weekend - if anyone is looking for a winter marathon or half marathon then I'd highly reccomend it.
Easy number pick up, although no real expo or sponsors there - city centre start and finish - great weather, a nice and sunny 18 degrees or so for us - flat course - good crowds and running numbers - lots of water stations - great city for a winter break from the snow and ice.
My wife did the half, which started 1.15 hours later than the marathon, but was on part of the same course and had the same finish, so was easy to meet up afterwards.
