What a great day - it didn't hurt nearly as much as i thought it would (or is that just the memory fading?) Psychologically i found 15-20 miles the hardest but physically the last 6 was tough but you know you're nearly there! I don't recall hitting a wall - although i did hit many runners near the water stations. What i wasn't prepare for was the heat - snow, rain, hail and wind i've trained through but sunshine???
Anyway,I managed to come through in 4 hrs 32mins and was dead chuffed.
oooh don't know what pen i'm in yet - my friends in pen 8 and i'm pretty sure i put the same time on my form. Does this mean I wont be able to get 4.5 - i thought the chip didn't start till you got to the start line? Or is it still really slowly from there onwards?
Hi all - am wearing my long black leggings and a blue Battersea Dogs Home vest with Pansie 2005 on the back. So if you see me - say hello! I'll try and pick up a smiley at the expo tomorrow - where are they again - at the RW stand?
Clare J - my fellow runners and travellers are moaning at me for arranging to meet so early. They want to leave at 7.45 so unless you feel like leaving later then i'm gonna have to say we'll see u there! (mmmm bit of long shot but you never know)
Paul F - yes let me know where and when nearer the time!
Mark - thanks for the advice. Yes I was wondering whether they'd get stuck. But won't they have worn off by the time I start to hurt? I know it won't start hurting till around 16 miles- so is there any point in taking them at all?
