4 miles yesterday evening at a newly joined running club. Was worried I wasn't going to keep pace having never (in ten years of running) been a member of a club. Turns out I run quite quickly - Will be going up a pace group next week!
@backtobasics - agree with you on the outrunning ... If anything it makes me go longer and faster, until they're beaten into submission! Fair enough they would wipe the floor with me on the weight machines, but I take the outrunning seriously!
Today's run - 5k in 27.35 - @5.35am! ... Reminds me I have to go put my gym kit in the wash!
Previously in a time BC (before children), I only used to run outside, but thankfully due to a new gym opening, I managed to get my membership for £10 a month for the first year - useful whilst I lose some weight and get back into the swing of things. I'm only using it for the treadmill though, which means I'll give it up in a month or two when the weather warms up! I really can't deal with anything under 5 degrees at the moment!
Well it turns out 5.30 this morning wasn't too bad! Managed a decent 5k in just under 28 minutes, although not being able to face the -3degrees outside, I have to admit this was on the treadmill.
Got to work on the speed next, but I'm sure this'll come in time.
So, after a good couple of 5k's the other week, had to take some time out due to work/injury/insert excuse here. Managed a pitiful 4k on Thursday morning, but come Sunday managed 5k in under 28 mins followed by a half hour of speed work - it felt awesome.
Lets hope it feels awesome when I get into the gym at 5.00am tomorrow!
