I have recently bought a Heart rate monitor to improve my training. What are people's views on racing with the HRM.

If racing with it is ok, what about using the alarm limits to keep myself in a certain range during the race.

Cheating, Unfair advantage or a great idea?

Scott,

Another Half Marathon in the area of Burnham is Marlow, organised by Marlow Striders. It's a hilly run through the country lanes. Normally on the first Sunday in November from memory. Well organised when I ran in 2001.

Henley too in mid October but that's a bit further away.

Billyb,

You're far keener than me. Two 8 mile runs during the week, including hills or speedwork plus a long run at the weekend.

Thnaks for the advice Ellie.
