2011 took my running in a new direction as i entered the world of ultras and loved it! Finished my first 100m NDW in 24.53 so my target is to go under 24hr this year, also to finish the Zegama-Aizkorri marathon in the sky running series which is the only race i have failed to finish in 32yrs of running - its tough !!. I will also enter SDW and if i fail to get a UTMB place the NDW.
Ditto what Ben says about the NDW, the 50 and 100 are well organised and most of the time on good tracks. I did the 100 in road shoes this year and not a blister to show If you are thinking about it ..... then do it!! Website is centuton running.
Peanut butter and jam sandwiches are my fav when out for 4hrs plus Also like the vanilla FGS, not sure if it does any good but just like the taste!
Whilst running, for salt/electrolyte replacement i use S caps by Succeed and these do work, ive never cramped up when taking them. They are used by some of the top ultra runners and I get mine from Amazon.
Really good article from James on the Centurion Running website. Under the blog "Ultra Growth" he talks about the quick growth in Ultra running and over subscription for races which possibly could become an issue soon in the UK. Anyway worth a read. Happy running
