Hi all

Does anybody have any experience with Galius sunscreen? I need something sweatproof - I have tried all sorts of things to prevent sunscreen getting into my eyes.

Any recommendations appreciated. I need a good sunscreen for hot/humid conditions, my runs are only about 2hrs, therefore no need to re-apply.

Many thanks!!

Hi all!
Does anybody have experience with the Deuter SL Compact 10 backpack for running?

My OMM needs replacing and I am looking into alternative options. I would like some pockets at the waistbelt or shoulder straps, it has to hold a hydration bladder (in a way that the tube is securely held in place on the shoulder straps, which the OMM does not do very well).

The Deuter pack is made for cycling and seems to have a metal 'rod' thread through the back padding. I have found in other packs that this can be very irritating when running, as it can make the pack very rigid. I was wondering if anybody has used it????

Any comments/suggestions much appreciated!
Thanks

I remember the article.

I have tried on the osprey talon but only the 'longer' version (20l???) - it feels very comfortable, it really hugs your body and felt perfect for running but it was too long for me (I am about 5'2), the slightly smaller version (?18l) may be perfect.

You can try:

www.deuter.com - they have women-specifice and also leightweight models, but for those the sternum strap can not be adjusted high enough (nice man in the UK office for advice)

obviously www.camelbak.com - also great women-specific range, very nice models and colours

www.tatonka.com - their women-specific are more for hiking but their activity packs have a nice torso length and the chest strap can be adjusted high enough for a woman. I didn't like their 'frame'-system as there is what feels like a thick plastic sheet in there. But reviews are very good, especially for the pleney.

I have a tatonka pack for 5 years now, in daily use in all sorts of weather conditions and travelling and it will last another many years.

www.vaude.com - read their website carefully, they offer sometimes two different back/frame systems for the same model - both with airflow but one sits closer to the body and would therefore be better for running. They have UK distribution which gives good advice.

All of them are eyewateringly expensive and most have on top of that the bladder not even included (except deuter, I think).

also check: osprey http://www.ospreypacks.com/index.php (they offer different torso lenght for some of their models, though no women specific for running), sternum strap can be adjusted nicely.

www.berghaus.com (haven't seen them)

www.salomon.com - has been mentioned already

www.northface.com - I don't like their back system - too far away from body for running but seems to be very popular

www.kohla.at - they don't have distribution of packs in the UK (only poles) but they will send directly to you, really nice girl in the office.

There are also lots of companies in the US and Canada, the list is endless. For reviews you can try: http://www.trailspace.com/

www.ebags.com and www.ebags.co.uk often have some nice pictures. If you have a local outdoor shop they can often order certain models for you to try on if they stock the brand. Internet companies sometimes have really good return policies, if you want to try something on (worthwhile for expensive packs).

Hope that helps
