I ran the Sydney marathon in 2011 and was 12st, having returned to the UK I started to eat all the foods I had missed in oz decent chocolate etc jumped on the scales on jan 1st and scared myself 15st, so I started running again last Friday attempting my block run of 2.2 miles, 3/4 way around was sick, but completed block on Sunday and Tuesday easier on Tuesday than Sunday I want to push myself but not sure how much I should push myself extending the distance every so many days. I am running every other day but wondering if I could do more as my legs haven't been as achey as I feared
To start running again last run before last friday was Sydney Marathon 2011, now 3 stones heavier having eaten so much UK chocolate as I had missed it being in Australia (Australian cadburys sucks) jumped on the scales on January 1st and got a big shock I thought maybe 1 and a half stones heavier but 3 scared me to death 15st now aiming to get back to 12st by diet and running aiming for Chester marathon in October and maybe with a following wind, training schedule and diet a PB
I have completed 2 marathons now Edinburgh in 2010 and Sydney in 2011, I've set out with a training plan lasting between 20 and 26 weeks and all is well until about week 10 when I don't know why I lose interest skip runs, eat too much of the wrong things then panic with about 8-6 weeks left try to get back into training and feel under trained for the marathon, I went through half way in both under 2 hours but staggered in over 5 although I was ill in the second half of Sydney and should have stopped but I was so desperate to finish.
Q) How do you get through your mid programme blues and how do you stay on the wagon with food?
