A fantastic day meant to do run 12 walk 1 x 3 but felt good and kept going ran 30 minutes nonstop, v happy, legs feel surprisingly good will do same for the rest of the week then move up time wise next week
I was told this on the morning of my first marathon in Edinburgh premier inn, slowly eating porridge, a nice woman on the next table asked if it was my first marathon I said it was and that I was scared of not finishing, I'd trained properly but bad thoughts had crept in, she toof me to think of the distance in terms of people, in the difficult moments you are talking to them, thinking about what they might be doing that day, thinking about what they might be doing at this very moment in time etc, one person per km or mile, for me I put one person per 2 miles and it worked I got round, I have only just picked up running again but will use it when the distances start to crank up.
1st, 2nd and 3rd run now done, have swam on the other days and already feeling better, had first food craving last night as I always used to have payday pizza on a Friday as I get paid weekly. Up to run10 walk1 x 3, happy with progress so far and the swimming has meant my legs feel a lot better than I thought they would it gets rid of most of any tightness I have. Going to have a treat day every 2 weeks with a choc bar or something so not totally having forbidden food.
1st run 2morrow in about 9 or 10 months, weight has ballooned now want to lose 2st/2st 7lb, so I'm going to run mon, wed, fri, sun and swim tue, thur, sat. Going to try run5 walk1 x 6 maybe a bit ambitious but 2morrow is tester run, then will adjust.
Going to get lighter and healthier before I think about any races.
