Hi Suzie, do you know that lactic acid only stays in your muscles for up to 2.5 hours after exercise, after that it is absorbed and used by your body.  If the tightness you are feeling is the day after the run etc then you should be looking at tight muscles.  Maybe increase your stretching before and after your training runs, concentrating on gastrocnemius, soleus and flexor hallucis longus (big toe tendon).

I also agree with the previous posting regarding having a professional sports massage every 2 - 4 weeks.

Hope this helps.

Best regards

Dunantin

Hi,
I you go on the Sports Massage Association website www.thesma.org, you can look at the 'National Register of Sports Masseurs' and by entering your post code it will show a list of all sports masseurs who are SMA members in your area.
I hope this helps?

If you go onto the Sports Massage Association website (www.thesma.org) you will find the national register of sports massage practitioners. You enter your postcode and this will provide a list of SMA qualfied sports masseurs starting with the nearest.
Hope this helps.

Just a reminder that there will be at least a dozen Sports Masseurs at the start/end of the race - for an optional donation to Muscular Dystrophy.
It sounds like some of you may need it!

The organisers have kindly arranged for me to provide the pre, mid & post race Sports Massage for this event.
There will not be a set fee for a massage, we will only be asking for a donation to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
This is the perfect opportunity if you have never had a Sports Massage before & also to treat those tired & weary legs!
The mid-race sessions are for those who are supporting the runners who may fancy a massage for themselves - maybe even a foot massage - and why not!
