Please do not forget it's a 10am start. As parking is limited unlike Boxing Day additional space has been arranged at Bramston Sports Centre. The high quality t shirts have been specifically amended to reflect the change of date! No snow or ice predicted !

This event filled up in early February and I would very much like to run it. If anyone is aware of a number going I am prepared to buy their entry make a donation to the race charity and advise the organisers.

It was inevitable but still with much regret that having driven the course this afternoon that we have taken the decision to cancel the BD5. There will be a couple of photos on our website from the inspection although we could have taken 30 more similar shots showing the solid packed ice from around the course. We do hope to rearrange later in the year. Please check on the Witham Running Club for updates at www.withamrc.org.uk

I do believe you have to be a member of either Colchester Rovers (Cyclists), Colchester Harriers or Colchester & Tendring (CATS) to run although you may be able to run as a guest. Best contact Chairman at Colchester Harriers via their website.

Failing that Witham Running Club have a fantastic 5 mile road race starting at 11am. Full details on their website.

 Hope that helps, merry Christmas.

Another good make of gel is Gu but they are only available on line from USA, they are small to carry in your pocket and come in a yummy 'expresso' flavour which really keeps you going !!!!

You must train with them regularly though, dont start using them just before the marathon as they can cause you to feel sick or worse !!! again you need to take water on when you have one, I usually take one an hour to keep me going...

I managed 2 runs this week even in the ice and snow !!! It was tricky but at least I got some training in !! Mad or what !!!!
