I was just asking as I'm thinking of entering a 10k in the Autumn and run/walking (5 mins run one walk as an aim).
The reason I asked about walking was just in case anything goes wrong between now and then and I get a flare up of an old injury, I'd rather walk than pull out.
Fingers crossed I'll be running mostly though though.
I didn't ask about walking because I'm lazy, don't appreciate the training that 'real' runners do or don't want to give 100%. I just worry a lot and over analyze things.
Is it generally acceptable to enter the usual sort of 5 and 10k races ie, Great runs, Derby 10k as a walker? I don't mean just trundling round like you're strolling down to the shops but brisk walking. (I tend to overtake the slow runners.)
I suffered from PF for about 7 months (not from running, from walking around being a lard arse) in the end losing weight helped a little but I also did eccentric heel drops (same as you would do for achilles problems) to stretch out and strenthen my calf and stretch the plantar fascia, seems to have done the trick for me, two years on no troubles, fingers crossed.
