42yr old 'jogger' who trained long and hard (for me) for the FLM. Absolutely no probs during training runs for 4 months up to 20 miles. Completed FLM in 4.30 non stop (again good for me) and felt fine. After the expected pains and aches had gone I was left with a painful left knee. Not painful to touch anywhere, pain on walking after a few mins, for the first week on the outside of the knee, just below the knee cap. This went afetr complete rest and was able to walk pain free. Decided to go for a short run last night, after 1 mile dull throb in the same place after 2 miles hobbled to a stop, much pain. Doctors this morning (after reviewing the forum) cortizone injection in knee and on the 3 month waiting list for physio. Acknowledging self diagnosis is inherently flawed, wondered if this rang a chord with others as I may start some of the many listed exercises whilst waiting my turn.
