As I'm injured and cannot run at the moment I turned up to watch, borrowed a yellow bib and helped marshall at the finish. I'm not even a member of Wilmslow Running club, but in the spirit of the running community we all help each other don't we?

Talking to a couple of my clubmates they all seemed to enjoy the race.

I'm in Oxford next weekend probably staying on the Osney side of the city. What do people do for Sunday runs? Any group runs at all?

What races do you run in? I've been pushed, shoved, elbowed, 'nudged' in the kidneys by someone going past and spat on (but the guy apologised)

But there seems to be an unwritten rule about not deliberatly spiking a fellow athlete (only applicable to x-country and track events)

One of my clubmates pulled someone elses shorts down once just as the starting gun went off!

I ran a tactical 20:11 - 50 seconds slower than my last 5km race a fortnight ago but I've been away and training has been inconsistent.

I held myself back until the last 1000m and picked up overtaking a few people in the process. Not seen any official results yet

A few years ago I stubbed my foot and broke my two little toes on my right foot. Two days later I ran the Amsterdam half-marathon with it strapped up and dosed up full of pain killers.

I say ran, I hobbled round in excruiating pain and because the rest of my foot was trying to compensate, I ended up breaking a metatarusal bone too. And unable to run for 6 weeks.

So my advice is not to do it, there are always other marathons to run.
