Ihave discovered that my 10k pace is only marginally after than my half marathon pace. I run 10k at 9.6km per hour whilst my HM pace is 8.4km an hour. Am I just not making an effort when I do 10k or are there people out there who are very one paced. I would love to get fast. Your thoughts welcome. My aim is to run three times a week with one long slow run of 20k, one interval training run of one I fast and one min slow about twelve times and one tempo run one the treadmill for about fourt five mins. Is that enough together faster.

The later 10km event was a "race" but in truth i was only competing against myself Normal running is as I have recorded above for the half marathon. I just expected the 10km to be so much quicker. The half marathon was just a training event.

Am I just being plain lazy. I ran two distances this weekend, a half marathon on Saturday and a ten km on Sunday. Speed on Saturday was 8 and a bit km/hour and on for the ten km increased to 9.5km/hour. Should i have run a lot faster for the ten km? Grateful for thoughts.
