Oh no. I've just looked at the photo again and not sure I want my feet seen in public! But yeah ok, I'll email the photo over. It might need a health warning!
Thanks for the advice Park Runner. I did see some opt for the sideways descent so might try and practice that before next year!
I've been trying to not get involved in the 3rd lady controversy as it's a shame to detract from everythicg else that was so superb anout this event. She has cheated herself but also, as you say, the 4th lady from claiming a podium position. Having finished 4th lady in 2010 and 2011 I know I would have said something if I had finished in 4th place this year and reading all of this. Sadly, this year not so good - down in 13th (or should that really be 12th!) I'll say no more about it
Well, I'm still having to wear open-toed sandals to work as my toes took such a bashing on those downhills that I can't contemplate pushing then into some tight shoes! I have had to paint my toe-nails a dark purple though to disguise the fact that all but one toe-nail has turned black. And the other one that hasn't turned black is still oozing some icky stuff (burst blister under nail I suspect!) But good to have some battle wounds. Sent photos of my feet to my mum (who is a retired chiropodist) and can imagine them being on display somewhere as example of "runners' feet" or similar! Did anyone else find the downhills worse than the ups or was that just me? I got stranded on a tree as I grabbed it on the way down the worst descent around half-way round and stood there for a few seconds too scared to move!
But still, I'll be back for more next year. Many thanks to the marshals and all other runners for their encouragement on the way round. I did try to recipricate when I could and sorry when I didn't as I would just be concentrating on staying upright when negotiating the steps.
Oh and yes another thanks. Thanks for the small T-shirt at the end. At last a small T-shirt that is actually small and fits me
Did anyone (sadly) count (or does anyone know) the number of steps we went up and down. I'm sure everyone thinks I'm exaggerating when I tell them there were HUNDREDS. And maybe there weren't hundreds and it just seemed like it.....
