Thanks for the responses. I think I will maintain my current training levels (few miles 2 or 3 times a week) and try to build from there. I will need to address the nutrition issue though, but I now at least know where to start. so thanks very, much. My thought process is; short term - get going again after christmas, and back to a regime. Introduce more fruit and veggies to the diet Medium term - Introduce short sprint sessions, and vary runs (tempo, hills etc) Long term - Introduce gym sessions (low weights high reps) |

HI I consider myself to be of "wiry" build if that makes sense. I am short and although can maintain distances am not particulary muscley (is that a word?). I would like to "trim myself up" so that I build muscle but without turning in to a sprinters physique (I am looking for more of a jessica ennis build than paula radcliffe). I have figured that some very light weights work at the gym combined with an increase in my sprint sessions, will be required to acheive this, however what about nutrition. Am i way off the mark and whats the best type of food to take in to help with this? Sorry if its all a bit complicated but please ask and I will try and make things a bit clearer. Thanks |

I have recently developed this weird discomfort around the bottom of the thigh / top of the knee. It seems to be like a deep sting from a nettle type of feeling and I think it has started since doing a track session. The track was on an indoor surface and of no particular strain (though it was a particualry heavy session) Ive never had this before and cant put a finger on how to resolve it, its not really painfull but I get the feeling that if its left it could develop into something worse. Any one got any ideas? Thanks |
