Hi siance, thanks for the advice. I went ot the gym 2 days ago i can just about bike and use the cross trainer, i may try a jog but i look like a right t$%t taking such little steps!! Do you think i should pay the physio a visit or wait to see what the consultant says?
All advice welcomed here please, especially if anyone has been through the same recently?..
I had a knee arthroscopy almost 5 weeks ago, i had a tear in the soft tissue behind my kneecap which had folded back on itself. The surgeon cut this away, he said the rest of my knee was very strong and as a normal knee should be, even my cartilage was intact.
The pain in my knee prevented me from straightening my left leg, running, walking fast, swimming in fact any form of exercise for almost 10 months untill i had the op.
So fast forward 5 weeks and here i am getting very very frustrated. I can walk fine now, can straighten it almost pain free, and it has stopped clicking as much as it did. However, i still cant run, i now seem to have pain running (what feels like) over my knee cap as soon as i try to run.
Also noticed going down ladders is very painfull, cant kneel on it and trying to bring my foot up to my bum to do a quad stretch is near on agony, feels like my knee is still swollen even though its nearly the same size as my healthy one now!
Im due to see the surgeon on the 23rd, would it be worth my while seeing my physio next week or should i wait to see the consultant? Also am i trying to ruch things too much and if so, how long can it take before i can run again?
