I noticed your Victory at the Welcombe Wobbler, well done!! I couldn't do it this year as it clashed with something else I seem to recall.
I did Stratford last year in 2.19 and then Kenilworth in 2.03. Trainings been going really well so disasters aside I would be gutted if I didn't go under 2 and according to those calculator thingys on my other times I should be able to do it in 1.50 (although don't think for a minute that I will do it that fast) but disasters have been known to happen particularly at Stratford so we shall wait and see
I am doing this for the second year running. Was my first half last year and a disaster. Not enough training, didn't know what I was doing and an unexpectedly hot day made it not very enjoyable and I ran/walked from 8 miles. Was well prepared and 16 minutes quicker at Kenilworth 6 months later and hope to go sub 2 hours this time around.
For all those pondering the cost, it is expensive but I think worth it for the organsisation and road closures which allows a lap around Stratford town centre before heading out into more rural parts. The set up at the finish was good last year too, medal put round your neck, someone to take your chip off for you, volunteers shouting your number as you approached the kit tent so that it was ready as you got there and post race massage positioned so you could watch the other finishers made it feel like quite a special event.
SBS - Hope we meet at last!
SS - Go on, you know you want to, would be good to see you again.
