Thanks Bearstead and Vixx- I'll pass on the congrats!

Bearsted- have you got your race pack for the BUPA 10k yet?

 I have

Also doing Wallingford the day before   Didn't know what date that would be when I booked BUPA London 10000.  Don't want to miss either.

Been a lovely day today and we should have similar tomorrow. Fortunately the rain held off.  Did parkrun for the first time since November.  Quite a head wind on the long slow slope.  Nice and steady.  Still easing myself back in - til next week that is!

Hi Nicky, Last time I had those symptoms was when I was pregnant so I put it down to that.  Turned out to be an over active thyroid.  Treated very easily with a course of tablets, though that was why I put on a couple of stone while they juggled the dose.  I hope yours is nothing much.

I keep trying to remember to weigh myself in the mornings. It's always such a rush.

Don't get me started about the whole men don't know what it's like with the pain of childbirth thing. If it's so bad, why do they do it again? I get kicked in the nuts, I NEVER want that to happen again.

lfc - that's because nothing positive comes from being kicked in the nuts

Nice pic, BP!

RLTW - promise me you'll train for the VLM if u get another number for it? Otherwise it'll be a very long walk.

The Marathon of the North is now classes as a Short Marathon on the Power of Ten   Very disappointed.

I will train for it .   I wish they would tell us earlier though. Can't see why they needsuch a long time before they announce ballot results - unless they're 'fixing' the results of course.  That's so frustrating about your 'almost' marathon. I'd be pretty peed off if it happened to me, specially as I haven't done one yet.

Those are great medals Old Shadowfax.

Well done RLTW- perhaps you should put your mojo on a chain round your neck so you don't keep losing it.  I've never been very impressed with the Town and Gown medal- last year's medal only gave the race name and year on the ribbon and the medal itself just said Muscular Dystrophy campaign.  Pretty poor for such an expensive race.

I've just dug ut last year's T&G medal and it was cr*p. Tacky cheap staybrite.  Thius year's is at least a decent bit of brassy looking stuff.  It says Town & Gown on it and it does say Oxford & Cambriddge  at the bottom (hadn't spotted that before)  With 4,000 runners you would think it would be worthwhile sticking the actual location and year on it.  The ribbon just says Wiley, who are sponsors.  So if I go and run the same one in Cambridge, I suppose I would get exactly the same medal.
