i have been running for over a year and recently developed a hip problem,, it has started to happen more frequenlty because of the weather i have been running on treadmill,, ive checked out my trainers,, and found that for the last 2 months the ones i were running in were completely flat sole so maybe that has done it.. i would like to know if it treatable ,, it feels like it is popping or like its gonna give way on my left hip ?? any ideas ?? thanks donna |

hi all im new to runners world forum,, i have been training since march an am now upto 6k with some hills in the course,, i think once i get to my 3rd hill thats when it really burns and feels like ive switched from burning one type of fat to another it feel excellent when u get inot the zone an feel i could go on forever,, i am hoping im doing it right going from 5k to 10k but would like some tips,, i think it took me 40 mins to do 6k so maybe i need to run a bit faster ,,, also any tips on breathing techniques for when going up hills cos they are a killer on chest.. does it matter that u only breath through your mouth an not your nose ie oxygen etc..... would be good to get in touch with some of you to share ideas and acheivments ... thanks donna |

Hi there i have done a few 5k's now and built myself up gradually. I recently did the 5k run in Cantley and it was fab!!! its true the atmosphere gets you going and if you dont speed ahead at the beginning you will be fine just pace it and then if you have any energy left towrds the end i always sprint off the last bit of energy near the finish line. Does anyone know if it is quite hilly or flat? Good luck with it. Donna |
