Waaaaay behind on stuff girls. Wanted to say hi to Caro and good mews on scans etc. all ok with me. Started marathon training for Berlin. - not a cracking start so far as got an evil cold (in June - seriously?!) but have been sticking to the FIRST schedule so far.
Good luck TB!! I managed a PB at park run in Belfast this morning. I knew I had a good chance of one as I was running with my little brother and the course is almost all on Tarmac footpaths whereas my local one is mostly long grass and mud! My bro is way faster than me but jogged with me and dragged me round at 8 min miles. I was about to die at the end but delighted to better my PB by over a minute! 24.40. That will take some beating on my local course. Anyway, despite my lungs aching and feeling dizzy over the last 200m sprint I felt ok mostly. But I know I underperform on shorter distances bearing in mind my marathon times. Goals are sub 50 10k and a sub 1.50 half. With a marathon PB of 3.58.11 that should be do-able.
Best bit about today's faster parkrun? I didn't wee myself even when sprinting!! Yay!!
Caro - sounds like a lovely day. Someone else I know went to th swimming today too at the Olympic park.
Hubbies .... Well, I left mine at home when coming to NI so I always miss him when away as he doesn't annoy me!!
Good luck again for tomorrow TB - hope weather is kind for you.
E's first solo morning at preschool. I took th chance for a buggy run with I. Was loverly despite rain - half on village lanes and half on a bridleway. Bit bumpy but I slept whole way so he can't have found it too bad. Pleased to have taken chance and run today which would otherwise have been travelling and packing!
Boo to all the vomiting. Hope everyone has recovered now. Sounded rubbish Chynah.
Love your attitude too pip - dunno about tri. I've never done one but my first few park runs after I did take it out of me more than I thought. Racing 5k as oppose to dawdling obviously makes a difference!
CC - your post made me laugh - very flattering though but yes, well done for resisting. You obviously have still got it!
Your kids sound amazing MM - clearly taking after you! Not much running here this week - had a migraine today which is only just easing off now - so using computer probably not the best! I am off to Belfast tomorrow with the boys to see my brother. Can't wait. Hope they both behave on the flight. My parents are coming too for added man power as hubby can't make it. Hoping to get some runs in whilst there - any maybe my first parkrun tourist!
Hope tomorrow goes as well as it can Caro - I will be thinking of you.
