Golly EF. You got it all going on right now. Hope she's ok. And I agree, midnight calls always make my hairs stand on end with thw dread of something awful. Hope your weekend is ok and your MiL's clotting level thingy comes down soon.
Hubby has to work this wkend. Bit gutted as I crave the weekends so much because of having some hlelp with the kids so when I know he won't be around much it's gutting. Means no long run either probably. Well, know I'm luckily really so mustn't grumble....
Hiya all! Caro - poor you but it's going around. I had it at weekend. Totally wrote off Saturday and Sunday. I felt OK at park run then mid afternoon felt a bit odd but thought maybe I was hungry as hadn't eaten anything.. Ate a scone, jam & cream then within half an hour was over the toilet. Horrified as for a horrible second thought I had had a reaction to clotted cream and would never be able to eat it again.......then realised it was a bug. Phew! In bed all weekend but better now. Had a scone & clotted cream yesterday just to make sure and no ill effects. Relief. Saw off almost the last few lbs of baby weight though - 2 lbs to go now. Almost so little as to not bother but i am determined to see the last bits go. Then I want to lose another few lbs to get down to my happy "racing weight" ready for Berlin but if that doesn't happen I don't really mind.
Well done on all that walking Pip. I will go out this afternoon as it's just a lovely day. Walked yday too but no running yet this week. Need to read back a bit to catch up. MM is your ultra in Pembrokeshire or have a i made that bit up? I know there is a coast path ultra there in November I think, 3 marathons over 3 days (so I suppose maybe not technically an ultra) which I would love to do one year.
Camlo -good luck for Tri on Sunday. which one is it again? sorry for all the stuff I've missed. Will try to keep up better. My GP appt is next week thank goodness so hopefully she can help me with the pills. I think the hope that she will is lifting me a bit too - light at the end of the tunnel so to speak.
Tatty - so exciting that they are on solids now too! I have started Isaac this weekend just gone (which was nice given that I felt HORRENDOUS!). He has had sweet potato wedges, melon, banana, rice cakes, all the usual gubbins. Interestingly, Ethan has eaten more veggies as a result - not to be outdone by little bro! Good thing as he hasn't eaten veggies really since he turned 2!
Man, sunshine really makes everything seem better doesn't it?!
On computer for a change so will probably veer into waffling..... and will try to keep up with everything but apologies in advance for stuff missed.
Caro - have fun on hols - my parents rent a cottage and tend to leave some washing up liquid, loo rolls and stuff there for people. There is also salt & pepper, olive oil, and they would leave some coffee sachets and tea bags so people can at least make a cuppa of sorts when they arrive - not sure what is standard though. I would take small quantities of essentials (i.e. enough to last a night or until you can get to a shop).
Hoggle ((())) - you guys totally need some luck. Hope your hubby is OK - back problems can be so debilitating. But it looks like you did all have a nice time on the farm.
Sonya - people are so dumb when commenting on pregnancy. As others have said, your bump will just show a little sooner cos you are so slim! On the FB pics I saw you didn't look pregnant at all TBH! I knew a really tall thin lady at my work and with her 3rd she was showing almost immediately. But then from about 6-7 months onwards she just seemed to not get any bigger and by the end she actually looked small for dates and was still skinny - just with a bump! I expect you will be the same.
Counselling - wow TB you've had a lot. It never really seemed to do much for me. I can't pinpoint my problems to any one experience or upbringing or anything. I have just always felt this way. Anti deps have such a marked effect on me though. It is suddenly like "oh, gosh, is this how most people feel usually?" I.e no pressing anxiety, no fear, no panic attacks, no insomnia, and my self esteem improves.
Hey ladies. Tha k you all so much for the support. Really means a lot. Have made GP appt now too. Next week sadly but I wanted to see the nice lady GP I saw when I joined the surgery when we moved here 6months ago rather than a total stranger. Fingers crossed. I was fluoxetine before CM and given it's so common I'm hoping it is a low risk/educated risk to take whilst bf- ing. Anyway, it might make Isaac Super chilled!
Have a great holiday Lotte. 100mile weeks. Wow. I'm lucky if I do that in a month! Park run PB for me on Saturday. But depressing realising that my park run Pb currently is still slower than my 5k split in my best 10k time!! Hey ho, guess it will take a wee while to get my speed back. Stamina seems to return quicker. Or be lost slower. Who knows.
I am reading in lieu of lots of running right now. Just finished running wih the Kenyans and now on Scott Jurek. On the subject of the former, what do you guys think about form and running on your forefoot/barefoot running style as discussed in the book. Or do you all run that way already?! I dont, but have been told I have a neutral style and thankfully so far have been injury free. So am a bit like "if it ain't broke...." But then the whole arguments for barefoot running are quite persuasive!
